Ultrasound Tech PRN for OBGYN and Urology
Responsibilities: Evaluates ultrasound services and maintains the highest possible standards of quality set forth by the Imaging department and departmental policies and procedures  Performs a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures  Produces clear and undistorted images as indicates per established protocols  Identifies and visualizes all necessary anatomy, measurements, and correctly labels structures  Documents patient information, test results, and measurements accurately  Recognizes normal and abnormal vascular anatomy and physiology and reports critical values and abnormal findings per establishes policy and procedures  Utilizes 2 dimensional, M-Mode, color flow and Doppler imaging techniques when indicated  Abnormal patient findings are immediately reported to physician  Assures correct patient information on requests and reports  Monitors equipment and department supplies  Organizes work area and maintains supplies

Education:

Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography
Preferred: Associate degree

Experience:

Preferred: 1-3 years

Certifications:

Required: Must be registered with ARDMS or ARRT within 24 months of graduation (12 months of hire). AHA BLS certified.

 

 

Under minimal supervision, performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. May be multi-credentialed in sonography. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
