Work location: Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth Work environment: Radiology Ultrasound Services Work hours: 40 Hours 4 10-hour shifts. Monday - Thursday 1:30pm-12:00amHere’s What You Need
High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Graduate of AMA approved/accredited Ultrasound Program (preferred) Associate Degree (preferred) 2 years clinical experience in hospital radiology setting (preferred) BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required) ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography (required) OR ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (required), must have 2 certifications upon hire AND Other RVT or VT(RVS) as one modality if performing vascular sonography (required) Competency in scanning/equipment operation. Excellent Communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize.What You Will Do
A Texas Health Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Ultrasound Technologist will
assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique. correctly send and transfer images to PACS. work in tandem with staff to ensure laser images from modality or PACS are printed as needed. operate, care for and maintain equipment. prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies). handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging.Additional perks of being a Texas Health Employee:
