Ultrasound Technologist Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie, WI (Onsite) Full-Time Apply Now Job Details + POSITION PURPOSE + Performs routine and special diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to departmental and hospital policies Operates and maintains all sonographic and ancillary equipment; assists with providing 24 hours a day, seven days. + MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED + Associate Degree: Graduate of an accredited certification program in Ultrasound Technology or Radiologic Technology + MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED + 3 months – 1 year + LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED + Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire. + Ultrasound III shall include American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registry in three or more disciplines: Abdominal, Obstetrics, Breast and/or Vascular. + KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED + Minimum of three (3) months of full-time Sonographer experience or equivalent. + Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language fluently. + PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES + Operates ultrasound equipment associated with the performance of all ultrasound procedures, including portable, biopsies and emergency examinations Recognizes and reports equipment malfunctions. + Follows ACR and department policies in order to maximize image view quality. + Assists with department coverage, including on-call hours. + Assists the Radiologists and physicians with biopsies and cyst aspirations Sets upon the exam room and utilizes sterile techniques. + Operates teleradiology and ancillary equipment. + Schedules appointments and instructs patient with regard to preparation instructions. + Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
