The Breast Center reports to the Oncology Service Line. Our Cancer Center is nationally accredited through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

Responsibilities

Perform quality breast ultrasound exams with the appropriate technical skills and according to the established procedure protocolsProvide for appropriate patient care, safety, education, and an exceptional customer service experience during proceduresMaintain appropriate documentation of patient records to meet operating standards, corporate compliance practices, and/or regulatory and accreditation requirementsPresent appropriate Imaging and technical findings of ultrasound scans to the to the Breast RadiologistCollaborate/participate in department related projects and/or teams focused on improvement opportunities as needed


Qualifications/Experience

Education/Accredited Programs

Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound technologist program

Experience/Abilities

One year of breast sonography experience preferredExperience working in a hospital environment highly preferred

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations

ARDMS registered or registry eligible for breast boards. Eligible candidates must obtain certification within one year of hire date.CPR Certified

Skills/Abilities

Ability to effectively communicate to patients about the procedures and educate patients about the role of preventative breast healthAbility to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employeesAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written and/or verbal instructionsMust always maintain patient-first focus and exhibit outstanding customer service skillsPerform other work-related duties as assigned
