Ultrasound Technologist I - Vascular

The key components and expectations of the Ultrasound Technologist are:

Function as an ultrasonographer in all aspects and duties of the job performance and expectation requirements Perform quality imaging studies using diagnostic ultrasound and assure appropriate patient care Maintain all licensure and regulatory requirements Other related duties as assigned that support ultrasound and Ellis Medicine Imaging

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program Minimum of two years experience in ultrasound is preferred Must be RVT certified

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers.  Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance.  Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

The sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasounds in several or most of the following areas: abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts or breast, utilizing clinical and technical knowledge to obtain high quality sonographic images and detailed patient worksheets that will provide the radiologist with the diagnostic information necessary for accurate interpretations.

Specific responsibilities include:

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Works independently, requesting assistance when needed Excellent communication skills Supports the physicians and departmental leadership Follows MEE behaviors and standards Maintains all certifications and licenses required for the position Promotes a smooth flow of patients through the department and helps to create a supportive atmosphere Conducts all interactions with patients and personnel in a courteous, respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality Maintains proper patient safety measures including but not limited to: proper identification, confidentiality, HIPAA, etc. Orders and maintains supplies Supports department staff on special projects as necessary Follows all governing guidelines set forth by organizations such as the Joint Commission, NYSDOH, etc., as well as, follow all departmental and organizational policies and procedures All other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $36.07-$54.10/hour                    Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
