Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Ultrasound Technologist Supervisor is primarily responsible leading the Ultrasound Technologist through daily supervision and training. The Ultrasound Technologist Supervisor will also provide coverage of the ultrasound sites throughout the week. They will be responsible for the completion of administrative tasks, including annual performance reviews, coaching, and corrective actions. The Ultrasound Technologist Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring timecards, approve PTO, and review schedules.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Completion of formal ultrasound technology training which meets requirements for certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
+ American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Certification in OB/GYN
+ Five (5) or more years as an OB/GYN ultrasound technologist
+ High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
+ At least one (1) year of demonstrated experience in a oversight or training role.
+ Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red Cross (cognitive and skills evaluations)
+ Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions to exchange information with patients, staff, and physician
+ Proficient with general operating procedures, i.e. start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting and problem solving
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
+ Excellent business English, spelling, and punctuation skills
+ Demonstrated leadership, diplomacy, and customer service skills
+ Ability to apply continuous quality improvement techniques in service delivery design to improve patient health outcomes
+ Highly organized with developed time management skills
+ Ability to perform a variety of assignments requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment
+ Computer efficiency
+ Valid AZ driver’s license
+ Must remain insurable under company insurance due to travel between locations
+ Maintain all certifications active and in good standing
+ Competency in dealing with people of various cultures and social status.

POSITION REPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL:
+ Primarily responsible for performing a variety of quality OB/GYN ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to:
+ Coordinates patient scheduling and daily work assignments
+ Serves as a resource for the imaging technologists in the Diagnostic Imaging Department
+ Suggests changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinates training and development of the Imaging Technologists, keeping them advised of technological changes.
+ + Identifies cost savings and assures that technical operations stay within the targeted budget.
+ Lead Technologist works collaboratively with staff to prioritize and organize schedules and to triage routine and emergent procedures.
+ Assists with interviews, provides input for annual performance appraisals, evaluates students, and coordinates coverage and daily work assignments.
+ Monitors equipment maintenance and coordinates repairs.
+ Monitors supplies and equipment inventories. Provides suggestions and recommendations regarding supplies and equipment.
+ Assists with collection and data analysis. Participates in the quality assurance program for the section.
+ Assists with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
+ Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures
+ Provide education to patients
+ Scan patient according to provider orders
+ Document findings and generate EMR reports
+ Maintain records, respect confidentiality and privacy
+ Observe Universal Precautions and Infection Control and Safety
+ Work collaboratively as a Health Center Team Member across functions and departments
+ Mentor students, Associate Ultrasound Technologists, and less experienced technologists
+ Provide feedback on improvement opportunities and risk mitigation opportunities

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
