Unarmed Security Officer

POSITION SUMMARY

Unarmed security officers maintain a safe and secure environment at businesses, organizations, and residential properties. They patrol premises, perform access control, and investigate disturbances. They also monitor alarm systems and video surveillance cameras.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Credential/ID inspections. Alarm response (Time-sensitive) Incident response Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards or security concerns. Visual vehicle inspections Walking patrols, averaging 30 minutes Vehicle patrols (If qualified) Access/Escort assistance Loss Prevention Perimeter fence inspections Building occupancy inspections Daily report completion (Daily Activity Report/Incident reports/Entry logs/Etc.) Static access control posting Key issuance/inventory Maintain constant communication with the supervisor. Maintain detailed knowledge of all standard procedures/post-orders. Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements (GATE) Permit authorized persons to enter the property, monitor entrances, and exits; and control/direct traffic (GATE) Meet applicable PPE standards of work location.  May include hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and cut-resistant gloves  (Construction) Subject to recurring proficiency audits

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Nights and weekends required. No M-F Day shifts available. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Minimum 18 years or older. Must have a valid State Identification Card (ID)   Read, speak, and understand English language fluently. Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms. Must be able to pass all training and obtain required certifications to include Unarmed DCJS License, First Aid, and CPR. Successfully pass criminal checks.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are 24/7.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
