Unarmed Security Officer

As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. You will be responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers, and hospital property by conducting regular patrols and enforcing facility policies.
A caregiver in this position works 5:30am – 6:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Patrol the internal/external premises while maintaining a high degree of courtesy and good judgment in dealing with the public.
Monitor visitor conduct, ascertain legitimacy of suspected unauthorized persons, control parking and traffic flows, and enforce parking regulations.
Maintain high tact and diplomacy.
Demonstrate the ability to deal with diverse social, ethnic, and religious groups.
Communicate with the public in a clear and concise manner.
Maintain a working knowledge of traffic, parking, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Provide physical restraint against those who endanger caregivers, patients, and visitors.
Provide escort to personnel as appropriate.
Apply restraining techniques, as required, to maintain safety and order within the hospital environment.
Report on safety, security, and/or fire hazards.
Recognize and make recommendations on safety violations and hazards.
Demonstrate knowledge of fire control warning systems, evacuation routes and procedures.
Respond to requests for assistance from clinic personnel, patients, and visitors promptly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Valid driver’s license (VDL) and maintains requirements for possession of a valid Florida driver's license.
State of Florida Class D license.
Has good oral, written communications, interpersonal and analytical skills sufficient to document investigative activities.
Can maintain a prominent level of confidentiality.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Chauffeur license.
Two years of experience.
Security, police, military or customer service background.
