The role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and improving automation systems on mobile and fixed equipment associated with the underground mine. This position will be the point of contact for all automation related issues and interface with maintenance and operations to ensure proper functioning of the systems.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Implement, maintain, and improve Sandvik Automine system on loaders and drillsImplement, maintain, and improve automation and data collection systems on air compressors, cement batch plant, and rock crusherDiagnose failure mechanism for all automation systemsInput to daily and weekly plan regarding necessary network configuration for required mining areas to ensure coverage is achieved.Liaison with controllers, operators, and mining supervisors to identify automation system performance issues and track field performancePerform repairs on relevant equipment and systemsAssist mining operations with issues and improvementsMobile Equipment Automation design, programming, installation, troubleshooting, and repairsAssist Fixed Maintenance with instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, and repairsQualificationsThe successful candidate will have:

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.Must be able to work shift work with 12 hour shifts.Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
