We are seeking a Underground Construction Drill Operator/ Locator to join our team in De Pere, WI. In this role you will operate drilling equipment in both standard and high-risk areas, with live utilities. You will perform conduit splicing, vault/pedestal placement and fiber/coax placement as well as general restoration and cleanup.

Hires and trains new employees to operate all underground equipment including the directional drills, locating for the drill, plows and mini excavatorsReads specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and to plan proceduresInspects work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that customer requirements are metLocates, measures and marks site locations and placement of structures and equipment, using measuring and marking equipmentConfers with managerial and technical personnel, other departments and contractors to resolve problems and to coordinate activitiesAnalyzes worker and production problems and recommends solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plansEnsures all team members are following company policies, operating equipment properly and adhering to all safety standardsRecords information such as personnel, production and operational data on specified forms and reportsIs your team’s “expert” as it relates to tools and information designed to enhance business resultsIs knowledgeable and follows all 811 One Call laws, rules and regulationsEnsures that resources are secured and maintained in proper working orderMaintains and enforces company, federal and state rules and regulations including but not limited to non-discriminatory practices, payroll and overtime guidelines Requirements 5+ years prior experience working in underground construction required, preferably for cable or telecommunicationsPrior leadership experience preferredPrior experience applying for permits desirableAbility to travel daily and open to a variety of schedulesKnowledge and work experience with construction trenching, placement of duct, CIC, coax, fiber and pedestals/vaultsAbility to safely operate underground construction equipmentExcellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to carry, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds)Ability to safely navigate various terrains, managing equipment and toolsValid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferredPassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)The compensation and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
