Responsibilities
The Equine Underwriter provides technical and authoritative support, as well as effective management, for all underwriting/administrative initiatives in the accomplishment of the corporation’s financial, strategic and business plan objectives as respects to the Equine/Cattle Program. Key functions include but are not limited to:
Manage a book of equine and livestock mortality businessResponsible for the growth of that book to meet the goals and objectives of the business unitAchieve terms, conditions and pricing that meet company profit objectivesAchieve loss ratio and production goals and deliver exceptional services in a timely mannerCollaborate with agents and brokers to foster productive and profitable relationshipsParticipate in continuing education and training Qualifications BA/BS degree in related field of study preferred2-5 years of experience in equine and livestock underwritingAdvanced knowledge of horses, including the various breeds and uses. Knowledge of common diseases and health issues with horses. Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of productsIn or open to relocation to Lexington, KY
