As an Underwriter, you'll analyze and verify loan applications, evaluate risk and make loan eligibility decisions. You'll ensure all documentation is compliant with relevant regulations.

About the Role

Review and underwrite customer loans within prescribed authority level, escalating unusual or complex cases to leadership where appropriateReview due diligence documents submitted to validate the borrower’s willingness and ability to repay the loanAnalyze loan risk and request additional information as necessaryMake loan eligibility decisions and approve or reject applicationsReview and specify loan conditions as necessaryEnsure deals are underwritten and adhere to internal policy, procedures, guidelines, insurer programs and regulatory requirementsDocument and efficiently communicate reasons for the approval/rejection of loansReview appraisal and/or site inspection reportsManage the relationship with submitting agent/broker sourceSet the pricing and manage the profitability of each transactionIdentify and assess AML and fraud risksManage pipeline and ensure daily production goals are met

About You

3 years of experience underwriting in residential originations

British Columbia & Prince Edward Island Candidates Only. The pay range for this position is forty-eight thousand five hundred dollars to seventy-eight thousand five hundred dollars. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental and vision benefits and paid-time off.
