As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our newly formed team as an Underwriting Assistant, Excess Liability.

 

Role Overview:

As an Underwriting Assistant, Excess Liability, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and profitability of our Excess Liability line of business. You will be responsible for all aspects of file management, including but not limited to file set up, quoting, binding, policy issuance, endorsements, invoicing, and collection of post bind data and documentation.  The role also requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle a high-volume workload, and utilize innovative ideas to multitask and efficiently and accurately maintain quality control of various aspects of a Profitable Underwriting book of business. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Daily contact with various members of the Underwriting Team and organization as needed and required by your responsibilities.Assist and support underwriters with new and renewal business including but not limited to: file set up, quoting, binding, policy issuance, endorsements, invoicing, and collection of post bind data and documentation.Maintain Quality control of various documents including quotes, policies, endorsements, cancellations, invoicing, and state conditional/mandatory notices as requested. Assist in the running of various reports as needed on a monthly, yearly, or quarterly basis. Follow up and complete a variety of underwriting correspondence in reference to applications, policies, and endorsements to obtain necessary documentation.Handle a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment, maintaining excellence service standards. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, agents, and internal teams, to drive business growth and retention.Handle any special projects as assigned in a timely manner.

 

Qualifications 2+ years of Property & Casualty Underwriting support experience is Strongly Preferred; however, College Graduates with Risk Management Degree Encouraged to Apply Excellent Verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to quickly diagnose critical issues that should be escalated for immediate attention. Bachelor’s Degree (preferably with a Risk Management & Insurance Major) or equivalent work experience.Team Oriented attitude and approach High Energy and eager to expand knowledge. Knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting practices, and industry regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Products: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
