Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Processes binders, renewals and correspondenceProvides support to the Inspection Processing team by advising on discrepancies and recommendations on inspections.    Assists with the Inspection Review process when directed by the CL Service Supervisor.Gathers and organizes specified information and reports to assist in the underwriting decisionServices all accounts, including resolving clients' inquiries, complaints, requests, and policy processing activities within guidelinesResponsible for quality and timely processing, and file maintenanceSends out applications for underwriters for new and renewal businessQuotes renewals as directed by the UnderwriterPerforms applicable procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards and out of state filings, including Surplus lines forms for carriersPerforms additional functions as needed as directed by the underwriterConfers with underwriter on forms, rates and areas as neededBackup for other assistants when out of the officeMonitors underwriter’s emails when the underwriter is out of the office

Qualification/Requirements:

Minimum 2+ years of technical assistant insurance experienceMulti-line rating expertise (or ability to develop multi-line expertise)Knowledge of Middle Market underwriting classes, forms, procedures, regulations, coverages and business processes for assigned territoryDemonstrated skills and authority to process endorsementsAnalytical skills to identify, gather and organize information and provide recommendationCustomer focused attitude and customer service skills to resolve inquiries quickly and effectivelyStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated initiative to complete assignments and obtain resultsAbility to work in a team environment to support overall profitability initiatives for assigned territorySolid organizational skills including: time-management, prioritization and attention to detailSkills to operate computer equipment, use commercial system applications and vendor softwareBasic math skills
