We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Underwriting Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

Implement HSBC underwriting Policy and Principle within the Chief Underwriting Office of HSBC and ensure that business is accepted on a sound and lasting profitable basisAccept or authorize the acceptance of new business cases or increases to existing policies within prescribed limits of personal authority, on a sound and profitable portfolio basisProactively monitor underwriting rules, guidelines and philosophy as to its continuing market competitiveness, its effectiveness and in relation to emerging or changing medical and insurance risk principles and practiceIdentify opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures within and external to this role in order to enhance the overall customer quality deliveryEnsure all activities are delivered in accordance with procedures and service standards and the business operates in accordance with Group and regulatory compliance and subject to robust internal controlsCreate and contribute to a customer friendly environment in accordance with our mission and vision, sensitive to and concerned with the needs and issues of the customersDevelop and maintain sound and effective communications and relationships with internal and external customersDeal with challenges and problems promptly, effectively and professionally
