ResponsibilitiesThe Underwriting Operations Technician is responsible for providing administrative support to the underwriting department especially as it relates to underwriting systems. The primary role of the Underwriting Operations Technician is to assist with the implementation, trouble shooting and enhancement of underwriting systems and processes. This position requires particular attention to detail, being a team player, and is task-oriented. The role partners with peers internally as well as across Berkley companies to support operations initiatives.
Key functions include but are not limited to the following:
Provide excellent customer service to internal partners. Handle phone and email requests/inquiries in a quick, professional, and courteous manner.Has an above average knowledge of Key Risk systems and processes. Complete project work and support system testing as needed.Update, implement and maintain written operational proceduresWork with leadership to understand results of operations processes, and work with teams on training and quality assessments to drive process improvements.Embrace innovation to increase automation of tasks where a human touch does not add value. Identify issues with processes and thoroughly vet the scope of the issue to offers solutions. Qualifications BA/BS degree is preferred.Ability to work independently, assuming responsibility and accountability. Demonstrate flexibility and evidence-based decision making.Ability to work in a fast paced, decision-oriented environment while managing time-sensitive projects.Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in work productStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.Ability to work in a collaborative team environment across multiple levels of leadership.
