**Description**
**Job Purpose:** This position is responsible for maintaining all unemployment wage & tax reporting related to participant accounts for the Fiscal, IRIS, and North Carolina programs.
**Reporting Relationships:**
**Reports To** : Supervisor – Payroll Operations - iLIFE
**Direct Reports** : No direct reports
**Essential Job Functions:**

+ Completes online unemployment account registrations and account closures.
+ Processes documents and requests received from state unemployment agencies.
+ Manually calculates and reports wage and tax information outside of quarter end reporting.
+ Prepares requests for manual payments outside of quarter end reporting.
+ Maintains the working relationship with all contacts at state unemployment agencies.
+ Maintains individual client files.
+ Assists with Quarterly Tax Returns and Year-end Processing.
+ Performs special assignments and or projects as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials:** _(Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)_
**Minimum Required Education:** Some college in business/accounting, or a high school diploma with an equivalent combination of training and experience.
**Minimum Required Experience:** 1 to 2 years in a financial / accounting field with a high volume of data entry.
**Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:**
+ Knowledge of state unemployment reporting regulations.
+ Proficient data-entry skills to support high work volumes.
+ Ability to prioritize duties and function effectively in a multi-task environment.
+ Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work with a high degree of accuracy.
+ Ability to effectively utilize and/or learn various computer software.
+ Ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external partners.
+ Ability to operate under and explain agency and departmental procedures and guidelines.
+ Ability and desire to cross-train; learn the work of other departmental staff to provide an effective back-up when needed.
+ Maintain a high energy level that is focused on completing departmental and agency goals in a professional and timely manner.
**Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:**
**Physical Requirements** : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Ability to input data into a computer system for an extended period, requiring both appropriate visual abilities and manual dexterity.
**Visual Acuity** : The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.
**Working Conditions** : None: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Occasional overtime hours required to meet deadlines.
