**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Union Engineer, you will be a part of a team responsible for a site’s safe and efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and controls equipment.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
**What You’ll Do:**
•Ensure all preventative maintenance is performed according to CBRE/BFP standards including, but not limited to, changing filters, greasing and oiling motors and gears, inspecting and adjusting belts and pulleys, and replacing motors, bearings, shafts, punching tubes on heat exchanger, etc.
•Have thorough knowledge of all key valve locations and electrical distribution switches for all building systems.
•Correct emergency conditions such as floods and sewer back-ups. Notify management of problems as appropriate.
•When problems are discovered on regular tours, initiate repairs with shift personnel.
•Participate in training as required for job development and proficiency.
•Participate in taking readings as scheduled and log results, notifying management if readings are abnormal.
•Ensure staff maintains a clean and safe environment in the Engine Room, Cooling Tower area, Switch Gear Rooms, and all other mechanical spaces. This maintenance includes surface cleaning, painting and other maintenance necessary to maintain acceptable standards.
•Coordinate work and system knowledge with co-workers, other shifts and supervisors.
•Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
•Understand and develop knowledge with building tenant response program. Maintain detailed maintenance reports and respond to tenant inquiries as directed.
•Work within broad guidelines and policies.
•Must be able to cover shifts when required
**What You’ll Need:**
•High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior experience preferred.
•Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
•Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
•Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
•In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
•Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
•Maintain a minimum of 5 FDNY Certificates of Fitness licenses.

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union Engineer position is $49.96 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
