Summary: The Journeyman HVAC Technician position is responsible for a range of tasks involved in the repair, replacement, and maintenance of HVAC equipment in commercial buildings. This role requires technical independence to determine appropriate work methods and procedures. Assignments are received through electronic communication, orally, or via written instructions. The technician is a subject matter expert for HVAC/R equipment, promoting a safety-first attitude. Markets served include Healthcare Services, Hospitality, High Rises, Property Management, Retail, and Restaurant sectors, and commercial/ industrial sites. The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, prioritize safety, and bring a strong attention to detail.
Salary Range: $64.13 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
+ Respond to dispatched service calls, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective problem resolution.
+ Compile and manage field service work order data for accurate invoicing.
+ Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing emergency HVAC issues.
+ Collaborate with the Service Operations Manager and other technicians to ensure service calls are completed efficiently.
+ Follow up with customers post-service to confirm job satisfaction before leaving the facility.
+ Regularly monitor, inspect, and identify necessary HVAC maintenance, improvements, and repairs, submitting these for action.
+ Address any additional service requests to support company goals.
+ Keep abreast of the latest HVAC industry trends and share insights with the management team.
+ Maintain a clean driving record in compliance with the Company's driving policy.
+ Undertake additional tasks as required by business needs.
Relationships:
+ Maintain proactive and positive relationships within the crafts, including shop and field craft personnel.
+ Foster positive relationships with customer representatives, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, safety, CAD/BIM, accounting, IT, and all project teams.
Experience / Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED preferred.
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in HVAC/refrigeration service.
+ Proven track record in HVAC service and maintenance.
+ Possession of a valid and clean driver's license.
+ Must hold Washington electrical licenses.
+ EPA certification is required.
Necessary Skills:
+ Ability to join Local Union No. 32.

+ In-depth knowledge of current local HVAC codes.

Required Licenses:
+ Journeyman Card or equivalent.
+ Active Washington 06A electrical license.
+ EPA 608 refrigeration certification or equivalent.
+ Seattle Refrigeration license (as per Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections guidelines).

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is constantly required to drive, stand, walk, climb, crawl, sit, crouch, and use hands to handle, grip, or feel. Additionally, the ability to drive an automobile and possession of a valid driver’s license are necessary.
