Explore our website (https://www.hoffmancorp.com/careers/) , and, if you like what you see, apply today.    Position Summary: The Union Payroll Manager will lead the craft (union) payroll team, supporting a cohesive approach to successfully processing weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with all union agreements, and completion of other payroll related tasks. As part of the accounting department and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Union Payroll Manager is essential to Hoffman’s continued success. The Union Payroll Manager is the subject matter expert for all things related to union payroll, including all applicable payroll wage and hour laws. The position will be responsible for the successful union administration of multiple entities that employ multiple trades and service multiple regions, including one international project. Administration includes utilizing accounting system to set up rate tables based on evolving wage rates, management of key man agreements, union reporting, labor agreement review, annual reporting of wages (W-2), and compliance with applicable prevailing wage laws. The Union Payroll Manager will interface with operational leaders to solve problems, issue periodic payroll related reporting, as well as ad hoc requests. This crucial team member will possess a compassionate leadership style, focusing on building trusting relationships while maintaining the highest level of integrity and striving for continuous improvement. Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000 annually Essential Responsibilities: + Lead processes and direct team responsibilities to ensure accurate and timely completion of all craft (union) payroll functions: new hire set up, entering select payroll data, reviewing pre-payroll integrity reports, processing payroll, ensuring compliance with all labor agreements, maintain payroll records and generate required reports. + Implement, maintain and review payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including wages, taxes, benefits, garnishments, final pay, and other pay actions/deductions. + Ensure all payroll processes and procedures are updated and compliant with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as any industry guidelines. + Responsible for generation, processing, and submitting monthly union reports with various deadlines. + Develop into accounting system payroll subject matter expert, including setup of employees, managing various tables, and utilization of the system to meet compliance requirements. + Work to identify opportunities for increased efficiency within the payroll systems working cross-functionally on company initiatives. + Maintain accurate data input and provide detailed reports to stakeholders as required. + Develop individual team members and expand their professional knowledge and skillset. + Cross-train employees, creating backup and contingency processes to ensure payroll can be reliably processed during unexpected situations. + Collaborate with Corporate Financial Controller to support annual financial audit by external CPA firm. + Ensure successful execution of annual reporting requirements (W-2). Professional Experience and Education + Minimum of five (5) years of in-house full-cycle union payroll processing management. + Minimum of ten (10) years of payroll processing experience. + Experience processing payroll for 500-plus employees. + Multi-state and multi-entity processing experience required. + Experience in the construction industry highly preferred. + High School Diploma or GED required. + Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred. Position Related Skills + Experience working in Oracle JD Edwards World or Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One payroll preferred. + Excellent time-management skills with the ability to seamlessly move between tasks and shift priorities. + Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships. + Ability to work well in a large professional setting. Patience and professionalism are essential. + Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network. + Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership. + Must maintain a customer service approach to role with the ability to provide excellent service to craft employees, colleagues, and external contacts. Physical and Mental Requirements: + Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment more than 85% of the time. + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computers or printer. + The worker is required to have the ability to perform duties such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; reading printed and digital documents. + Constantly required to communicate with customers and coworkers in and office setting, on the phone and in digital meetings. + Ability to communicate laws, ordinances, plans, regulations, protocols, directives, and standard operating procedures related to payroll processes.
