[Job Description]
A large mechanical contractor company in Tacoma, WA is currently hiring for a 100% onsite (Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST) Union Payroll Specialist. This position is going to be a 6-month contract-to-hire. The 50% of weekly responsibilities for this role will be handling union payroll while the rest of the responsibilities will be broken down to other various invoice support, reconciliation, entering receipts, vendor relationships...etc.
Pay - $26/hr. - $28/hr.
Location - Tacoma, WA (100% onsite; Monday - Friday)
Schedule - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST
Contract Duration - 6-Months Contract-To-Hire
[Primary Duties]
[Payroll]
Review union dispatch and I-9 forms.Enter new employees, verify information on existing employees.Create timecards from job timesheets.Enter time into journals, reconcile to job timesheets.[Purchasing/Payables]
Assist with obtaining final invoices for Purchase Orders when a job is completed. Call/email vendors to verify rental returns and confirm all invoices for POs.Post receipts for credit card purchases. Review CC statements and reach out to cardholders for missing receipts.Assist AP with any invoice entry during busier times.[Reception]
Answer phones, sort mail, filing, scanning.[Qualification Requirements]
1-4+ years of experience handling payroll for Union workers (Union workplace payroll experience of around 100 workers or more would be very ideal).Bachelor's Degree desired but not required with relevant years of Union payroll experience.Microsoft Suite experience.Strong understanding of accounting principles (Job Cost Accounting).Comfortability to submit to a drug test during onboarding which also tests for marijuana/THC.

• Compensation is tied to the Colorado and Washington markets for jobs performed in Colorado and Washington. Other locations may be subject to variances based on location-related factors.
