The DIA is a dynamic and complex industry. It is a face paced, high profile, 24/7 business that requires around the clock support and access to a variety of information. The DIA relies heavily on the entire IT staff to support the complex systems as they are a crucial component of a strong and successful sports program which fulfills the overall mission of Rutgers Athletics and Rutgers University. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Unit Computing Specialist for the Athletics Events – Operations department.
Among the key duties of the position are the following: Handles the day-to-day resolution of technical problems related to hardware, software, configuration issues and telecommunication issues for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) with a focus on the daily support of Football operations and its practices. Performs network administration and the deployment of enterprise level projects including, but not limited to, Football Operations and Replay Systems for all sports. Oversees help desk operations and coordinates with other IT staff for balanced and distributed support across the DIA. Serves as the on-site IT representative at various athletic events to setup associated venue hardware and software, test operation, and rapidly responds to critical sport venue technology during matches so that issues are resolved quickly. Conducts research on new technologies, as requested, including specialized software. Selects and recommends the purchase of hardware and software for universitywide usage. Plans and implements specailized software releases with little impact to daily operations. Develops internal computing policies and procedures as required for the safe operation of systems and appropraite protection of data.
