You are a pro-active, experienced professional materials manager who has a passion for accurate inventory control, getting the right parts at the right time, improving KPI performance, and reducing inventory costs. You will play an important role of supporting mill operations and partnering with teams across Weyerhaeuser supporting Operations Procurement Lead Team, mill maintenance and operations, and other functional teams.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to support mill uptime reliability by ordering stocked parts and support our Operations Procurement strategy. You will do this by aligning your efforts with mill goals, Wood Products goals, Operations Procurement strategy and roadmap, company vision, operational excellence and reliability initiatives. To be successful in this role, you will build relationships and partner with the Procurement Lead Team, mill leadership, mill buyer, mill storeroom, maintenance, planning scheduling, and other stakeholders within WP.

Issue Purchase Orders to replenish stocked parts inventory from trusted business partners (or rebuild/repair items), confirming delivery dates in the Purchase Order. Oversee new Material Master requests, and ensure stocked items are approved and connected to the appropriate Bill of Materials.Maintain inventory accuracy through continuous monitoring of inventory levels, cyclical reports, cycle counts, and ensuring appropriate storeroom access controls are in placeMaintain accurate Material Master supplier lead times and appropriate minimum and maximum levels for every part. Reporting and performing necessary record updates on a monthly basis. Responsible for Picking Kitting. Pick and collect parts by work order, issue parts to the WO, and finally placing kitted work orders in the designated area.Manage the Storeroom workspace by maintaining a clean and organized environment, ensuring shelves and parts are properly labeled, ensuring parts are stored according to best practices, ensuring motors/gears shafts are rotated per reliability procedures, and maintaining accurate record keeping.Utilize Operations Procurement’s strategic contracts and provide feedback when those contracts can be improved if better value is foundActively pursue lower cost opportunities to generate savings for the organization.Maintain a high level of On-Time-Delivery by effective use of Purchase Order management and Supplier Performance ManagementFunction as backup personnel to mill buyerCoordinate with Maintenance Planners to ensure accurate work order scheduling and timely work order completionMonitor storeroom access and prohibit materials from being removed from the storeroom area without following proper procedure.Participate in audits of storeroom when requiredPROCEDURAL
