Unit Secretary Med Surg 1E

About the unit 

1E is a 20 bed Med/Surg unit at Blodgett Hospital.  Nurses enjoy working on 1E as you are able to become an expert in so many areas since we care for a wide variety of diagnosis.  Some of the patients we care for are those with Respiratory illnesses, Acute Kidney Injuries, DKA, Septic Shock and many more.  We also have a surgical population of Mastectomy patients and Thyroidectomy patients.  In addition to some of the above stated items, 1E also uses Endotool which is our continuous insulin drip program and utilizes cardiac drips.  Teamwork is vital within our unit and the staff work to ensure sound communication with the whole care team.

Scope of work   

Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame.

Qualifications  

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required 

2 years of relevant experience Preferred
