Duke University Hospital: Children's Hospital and Lenox Baker are hiring a Unit Services Coordinator for their outpatient clinics.

 

Occ Summary

Coordinate and maintain various non-clinical and ancillary services of assigned patient care unit(s) or an Operating Room specialty unit in support of nursing services to maintain efficiency and quality of unit operations.

 

Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours 

 

Work Performed

Coordinate and maintain a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services of assigned patient care units or an Operating Room specialty unit including, but not limited to, housekeeping, maintenance, patient supply services, dietary, clerical support and related unit-support functions. Requisition supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services; ensure that maintenance and repair needs are met; track and document lost or damaged equipment and supplies. Monitor inventories and supplies; coordinate routine procurement and stocking activities provided to the unit; analyze usage patterns of supplies and recommend optimal par levels. Collect and analyze data related to unit operational activities as directed by nursing management to include, but not limited to, personnel records, work hours reports, overtime reports, budget and expense reports; identify trends and recommend corrective actions. Prepare a variety of reports, memos, correspondence and related documents as required; maintain unit files and distribute documents as appropriate. Interpret departmental and divisional policies and procedures and ensure unit compliance with established hospital, quality assurance, safety, and environmental policies for unit operations to exclude clinical care issues. Identify and facilitate resolution of unit operational problems independently; confer with supervisor or nursing management to resolve more complex problems.

 

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education

 

Work requires general communication, mathematical and organizational skills normally acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree.

 

 

Experience

 

Work requires three years of experience in administrative functions including financial management, payroll, supplies/equipment, and/or hospital/patient care experience. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
