Position Summary
The Universal Dining Worker is a versatile member of the Dining Services team, responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a high-quality dining experience for residents at WEL. This role includes duties related to food preparation, service, and sanitation, ensuring that meals are served in a pleasant, efficient, and hygienic manner. The Universal Dining Worker is expected to provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive dining atmosphere and will perform other duties as required.
Essential Duties and Functions
Responsible for creating an enjoyable dining experience for residents and guests.Familiar with daily menu, including key ingredients and preparation methods.Interact with residents or guests in a friendly and respectful manner, responding to any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionallyCommunicate effectively with back of house to ensure smooth operation and timely service.Assist with the coordination and execution of special events, such as holiday meals, celebrations, or catering services for meetings or functions within the community if applicable. Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and assembling sandwiches. Set up and replenish food stations, buffets, and dining areas with appropriate items.Assist with training new team members and providing ongoing support to colleagues.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in dining areas, including clearing tables, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing condiments.Assist in dishwashing and ensuring that dishes, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and stored properly if applicable.Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper handling and storage of food items, and sanitation guidelines.Provide personal assistance to residents who may need help with seating, carrying trays, or cutting food.Responsible for knowing and understanding meal special dietary needs, to ensure residents receive properly prepared food if applicable.Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing, food storage, and temperature control.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
Previous food service preferred; knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations is a plus.Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
