University Police Officer

Summary:

Under the direction of a sergeant, is responsible for providing assistance and protection to persons and property in and about Rowan SOM owned or leased buildings and grounds in accordance with the Public Safety Department's rules and regulations. Enforces New Jersey Statutes and Title 39 Motor Vehicle and Traffic Laws as provided under Title 18:6-4.2.

Qualifications:

Must have completed, the Basic Course for Police Officers at a New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC) certified Police Academy. Must pass NJ State Police background investigation and psychological test, High school Diploma, be a US Citizen, and have a valid driver's license.

Candidates must pass a physical examination to determine their fitness in order to perform the duties of a Police Officer. Must be able to be commissioned as a police officer under the New Jersey Stature 18: A, and authorized to enforce Title 2C and Title 39 by training and experience.
