Job Description
Under minimal supervision, work with mid and upper-level management team at FISA as senior level Unix System Administrator, specifically with both Red Hat Linux and AIX systems. The Unix System Administrator will be responsible for supporting all infrastructure hardware and software critical Citywide functions, specifically the City of New York Financial Management application system environment. The candidate will assist in the design and configuration of HP X86 systems and IBM POWER servers. This individual will perform tasks such as building and configuring Virtual Machines on both IBM PowerVM and VMware technology, managing system resources, patching, upgrading, monitoring, performance tuning and problem determination/resolution for FMS3 and Single Sign On system environment, writing and debugging shell and pert scripts. This individual will also need to participate in the on call rotation, and able to work at night or weekends when necessary.
This is a Hybrid position.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Extensive years of experience in AIX specifically version 7.3
Extensive years of experience in managing VIOS specifically version 4.1.0.10 or higher
Extensive years of experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.9 or greater.
Extensive years of experience in managing Hardware Management Console (HMC) version 9 or higher. Strong knowledge of IBM Power Hardware.
Strong knowledge of IBM Power HA version 7.2 or higher Strong knowledge of IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) v5.1 or higher
Strong knowledge with single-sign on implementation utilizing IBM Security Verify Governance software. Strong knowledge in Performance Analysis and Tuning, Capacity Planning of RedHat and AIX
Strong knowledge in LDAP technology utilizing IBM Directory Server
Strong knowledge of Server virtualization, micro partitioning, VMware, Dynamic LPAR, NPIV, SEA, LPM and Vmotion.
Strong knowledge in Redhat Satellite Server & Ansible Strong Shell and Pert scripting skills.
Strong knowledge of Application Systems Disaster Recovery. Knowledge in SSL/TLS keys & HSM implementation.
Knowledge in Network Etherchannel and LACP IEEE 802.3ad technology. Ability to provision, configure, operate and maintain systems.
Ability to perform OS upgrades and patch installations.
Ability to perform and maintain weekly AIX system backup and tape backup for Disaster recovery.
Knowledge of Oracle RAC Architecture, configuration and implementation.
Experience with Symantec NetBackup and the support backup and Recovery for day-for-day operations and
Disaster Recovery. VMware NetBackup implementation experiences a plus.
Experience with Zabbix monitoring tools. Provide support for Windows 2019 servers.
Ability to plan and prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
Must be self-motivated and work well with other groups, a team player.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Working with an enterprise wide, large scale matrix environment. Ability to work night and/or weekends when necessary
Knowledge in WebSphere Application Server v9, IBM UDB v11, VMware ESXi v7 is preferred but not
mandatory.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
