Being a Part Time Unlicensed Outpatient Therapist has its advantages!

 

As an Outpatient Clinician at Devereux Community Services located in Malvern, Pa, you will be involved in conducting individual and family therapy in an office location with flexibility in scheduling your appointments. This position allows clinicians the opportunity to work with individuals ranging in age from 2 to 21 years old, depending on enrollment through a school district, with a wide range of clinical diagnoses.  We are looking for someone with after school availability who can commit to a  minimum of 10hrs per week.  Please note that you will be required to attend orientation. This is 1 week long, Monday-Friday, 9a-5p.

Specific responsibilities of an Outpatient Therapist include:

Complete intakes as necessary and deliver individual and family therapy.Create initial resiliency plan within 3 sessions and ensures proper documentation is complete.Review all Psychiatric evaluations and ensure that recommendations are being followed.Assists in hospitalization if required.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services’ Community-based Outpatient Services team provides behavioral health services for children, adolescents and young adults, ages 2 to 19, who are diagnosed with depression, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorder, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, bipolar disorder and poor impulse control.

 

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and  approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  Masters in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work

 

EXPERIENCE:  Previous experience conducting individual and/or family therapy, preferably with children and adolescents, required.  Requires strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and computer skills.  Must be adaptable to changing workload, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and available to work a flexible work schedule.  Must have the ability to travel to and from work site, and be at least 21 years of age.  Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of software programs (i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
