GENERAL PURPOSE: Learn and perform all aspects of the unwind/rewind operations associated with print department operations. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Verify the raw materials supplied to the unwind station conform to customer specifications and retain supplied documentation for future use.Prep rolls, removing any damaged or non-conforming paperboard.Move prepped rolls onto conveyor.Set-up inline splicing mechanism and associated procedures.Prepare for continuous printing operations, readying consumable supplies and components.Complete rewind process by removing and retaining a quality impression for each completed roll.Apply job identification labels to each finished roll.Complete packaging of finished roll by completing banding process.Using a PIT(powered industrial truck) transport finished roll from the print room to the staging area to be picked up by warehouse personal.Follows, within reason, the instruction of the machine operator.Perform monthly safety engagement as required.Responsible for the safety and well-being of employees.Participate in daily area cleanup.Participate in monthly preventative maintenance.Perform other job duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to read and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Must have basic knowledge or ability to learn to identify specific tools used in the printing process.Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Must have basic mathematical skills. Must be able to work well with others.Must have good problem-solving skills.Must be able to work well in a high-pressure environment.Must have basic knowledge of personal computers.Must be willing to work overtime as needed. Must be able to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working a different shift if needed.Must be able to read, write, and speak English.Must have mechanical knowledge of gears and printing processMust have problem solving skills--both Mechanical and Computer.Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.   Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
