The Maintenance Manager, reporting to the Upgrader Manager, oversees four direct reports and a staff of 327 employees, including contractors. The facility, with a 248 MBPD DCO processing design, is located in the Jose Industrial Complex in Venezuela. This role involves planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling processes and resources for maintaining world-class utilization and reliability for safe operations, focusing on regular and turnaround maintenance.
The Upgrader integrates with production fields, handling 8.6° API crude from the Orinoco Oil Belt, blending it with naphtha diluent for transportation. The diluent is recovered, and the extra-heavy crude is upgraded into commercial crude oil through delayed coking and hydroprocessing/hydrocracking. The Upgrader includes units for distillation, coking, hydrotreating, hydrocracking, hydrogen generation, sulfur recovery, utilities, and storage facilities.
The Upgrader is in the process of a strategic recovery plan aimed at recovering baseline conditions. The maintenance department's preventive maintenance strategy is central to achieving world-class reliability.

+ Lead Upgrader maintenance organization to implement/apply HES related procedures, processes and regulations for execution plans free of personnel injury, environment impact and infrastructure damage.
+ Develop, execute, and keep track of Upgrader maintenance action plans to meet Business Plan Objectives.
+ Develop, execute, and keep track of maintenance annual contracting & procurement plan (ACPP) in alignment with Upgrader Business Plan.
+ Develop, execute, and keep track of a maintenance shop support plan for both on-site and outsourced contract shops.
+ Provide input for decision making & organization capabilities (OC) support for Turnaround planning & execution.
+ Lead role on maintenance KPIs analysis to ensure gap closure on QA/QC processes, equipment/tools effective utilization and organization capability.
+ Promote and lead OC continues feedback and evaluations processes, to drive organization towards leadership performance excellence and knowledge/competencies gap closure.
