Responsibilities

Tasks:

• Cut wood using power table saw

• Cut padding using band saw

• Traces and cut upholstery material using scissors or razor blade

• Covers assembled seating pad using staple and/or glue

• Remove old covering, padding and defective wood from seat needing repair as needed

• Operates sewing machine to join various sections of covering materials

• Other jobs or projects as assigned

• Meet the daily production schedule as provided by supervision

 

Quality:

• Inspect seams on pads for missed or loose stitches

• Assure all sewing equipment is good working order

 

Safety:

• Follow all safety policies

• Use all required PPE equipment

Maintain Work Practices:

• Keep a clean and organized work area using the 5S standard

• Work well with other co-workers and supervision

• It is expected that you be at your work station at the start of your shift and immediately after your breaks and lunch

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds using a team lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Qualifications

Education:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

 

Experience:

• One to three months related experience and/or training.

 

Other Requirements:

• Ability to read a tape measurer

• Ability to work overtime
