What you'll be doingThis upstream product management role plans, coordinates, and manages products within the Physical Exam & Diagnostics portfolio from conceptual stages, through development to launch and manages product life cycle - including sustainment and discontinuation.
Global Product Management:Collaborate with a cross functional product team including engineering, commercial marketing, service, compliance, regulatory, quality, payers and sourcing to manage the entire product line life cycle, drive profitable growth, and maintain customer satisfaction and business goalsGains a deep understanding of customer needs and workflows, as well as identifies and fills product gaps and generates new insights for features/products that grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growthCollaborates with program managers and project managers on the development team to implement product strategy and suggest the nature and scope of current and future product enhancementsStrategize, plan, and prioritize market, product and clinical research that identify and define opportunities to support business growth through sound clinical marketing evidencePartners with finance to develop cases to support project investment and with market research to understand market sizes, addressable segments, pricing, dynamics, competition, share position, customer drivers across multiple product linesDriver of the go-to-market strategy/process/plan for portfolio of productsProvides oversight to management of product costs, has input to global pricing of applicable portfolio, and margin maintenancePartners with commercial marketing teams in all global regions to support effective product launches and ongoing portfolio managementDevelopment and Implementation of Product StrategiesPrepares portfolio strategy to achieve growth and profitability goals aligned with the corporate strategySelects and presents portfolio segmentation in consideration of technology and platform strategiesDevelops technology roadmaps together with R&D organizationAssess market potential for the right segment/targets, develop strategic business plan capitalizing on future market needs and opportunitiesIdentifies portfolio gaps as potential growth opportunitiesDefines clinical research requirements to support the roadmap and product launchesProduct Life Cycle ManagementLifecycle management of products, including product launch, phase-out, incremental improvements, and line extensionsContinuous monitoring of products during entire life-cycle and initiation of necessary actionsInitiate and support product phase out process, working with all cross-functional partnersSupports Regional Marketing and Sales with product and technical queries (including tender process support)Coordinates and supports country registrations and global expansion initiativesAttends trade fairs and exhibitionsImplements product training, education and demonstrations to support sales, customer and partner visitsWhat you'll bringBachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or equivalent required. Advanced degree preferred3+ years of Product Management/marketing experience in healthcare, medical devices or related fields required; experience with medical device products preferredDemonstrated excellence in product life cycle management, with strong knowledge/application of multifaceted marketing strategiesStrong business insight and detailed knowledge of upstream/downstream marketing, sales, operations, regulatory, clinical and NPD processesAbility to travel approximately 25% of the time, including internationally, may also be required.Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - 143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
