The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is currently accepting resumes for Upward Bound (UB) Project Advisor. The UB Project Advisor is, under the supervision of the UB Director responsible for participation, academic success planning, PreCollege programming, case management, administrative compliance, facility and child safety and relationships.
Duties include but not limited to: accountable for recruiting; meet participation goals; act as a liaison between target schools, parents, organization staff, and program staff; accountable for assigned programming and quality programming; provide holistic and comprehensive case management services to members; facility and child safety. May be required to provide support services virtually. May be required to assist with community outreach. There is potential for exposure to germs and illnesses. Employees are to follow all safety procedures and protocols.
Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
Work sites are located in low income areas, challenging neighborhoods, and growth neighborhoods. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and at times moderate or very loud. Position requires working with small to large groups of youth.
Responsibilities Work regular program hours which are normally 9:00am – 6:00pm but could change based on school needs and/or organization needs. Candidates must have reliable transportation, liability insurance, satisfactory driving record and a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties and to be covered under the company insurance the requirement is for employee to be a minimum of age 21.
