Responsibilities UR Coordinator-Behavioral Health Horizon Health is seeking a UR Coordinator for our BRAND NEW unit called AlTru in Grand Forks, ND. This unit will be a 24 bed inpatient unit for both adult and pediatric patients. We are also planning to expand to an additional 24 beds in 2026. Altru Health System and Universal Health Services are working together in expanding inpatient behavioral health services.The Utilization Review Coordinator initiates pre-certification calls for private insurance and managed Medicare and Medicaid plans and provides concurrent reviews throughout the patient stays. Responsibilities: Tracks utilization review outcomes Assess and reassess the quality of patient progress notes Maintains insurance contact information Manages insurance appeal process and work with the facilities denial management coordinator Communicates treatment team recommendations and participates as part of the interdisciplinary team. Provides resources and suggestions to third party payors regarding aftercare and discharge continued care. Continuous education of legislative and insurance changes in regard to continued stay requirements. Stays informed on all clinical services and program changes in order to appropriately represent payor sources. Disseminates pertinent findings/data to referral sources as needed. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
