AUSTIN OAKS HOSPITAL is currently hiring a Coordinator-Utilization Review for the UR department. Responsible for admission and continued stay reviews. Serves as liaison with medical staff and other clinical departments. Obtains authorizations for admission and continued stay, appeals in appropriate reimbursement denials. AUSTIN OAKS HOSPITAL provides acute inpatient psychiatric services for Adults, Adolescents, and Children. Qualifications SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of utilization review principles and procedures including state, federal, and JCAHO regulations, data collections, techniques, medical analysis, insurance payer systems and cost containment methods. EDUCATION: Required: B.A. Preferred: Masters degree; Social Work, Counseling, or related field. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Current CPR; Preferred Licensed Mental Health Professional; LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN. EXPERIENCE: Required: Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in a health care setting, preferably inpatient. Minimum of two (2) years experience in UR. Preferred: Five years experience in mental health in an inpatient facility. Five years UR experience.
