URBN is looking for a Manager of Investigations to join a fantastic team. 

Role Responsibilities

Investigations                                                                                                                 

Use investigative tools and techniques to identify internal / external theft, shrink causing factors, policy violations, incidents and other areas of potential loss. Collaborate with internal partners when required- (i.e. Sales Audit, Finance, Internal Audit, Operations, HR, IT, legal etc.) to manage the investigative process. Assist LP Team members with investigative knowledge and case preparation. Conduct high-profile investigations and interviews of in-store and corporate office personnel. Complete post case review with LP Managers, DM’s, RD’s, and Director of Stores.

Exception Reporting:                                                                                                      

Analyze POS / E-Comm Data via Exception Based Reporting (Secure-5) and other reporting systems to identify theft patterns and unusual trends. This also includes the usage of “Open-Source Intelligence” and social media outlets. Work with Fraud and Charge Back compliance as well as Direct to bridge the gap between In-store and Direct fraud and theft. Prepare investigative findings on a timely basis. Assign investigative cases to LP Team members through the “Secure Incident / Case Management” system.Streamline various reporting systems to enhance case management productivity.Develop/ build new exception-based reports that identify quickly potential internal theft or fraud.

Training:                                                                                                  

Train the LP Team on all aspects of the EBR system Secure -5. Train LP team on existing and new investigative techniques and other fraud detection strategies. Achieve this by conducting regular touch bases with the LP Team.Follow up with the LP team on department procedures on case preparation, documentation and timely submission. Conduct a case review post interview to identify training opportunities. Report non-compliancy issues to the department leader.Remain current on industry investigative /interview trends. Attend various training sessions as offered by (i.e. APPRISS, SKOPENOW, CFI -IAI conferences etc.) to achieve this.Utilize existing skills to conduct clear and concise presentations to large groups including executive leadership.

Reporting and Analysis

Create effective EBR reporting alerts to quickly identify internal theft with special emphasis on (SRP) Shrink Reduction Program. Conduct special projects when required under the direction of the department leader. Maintain and deliver all department reporting (i.e. returns management, Internal dishonesty statistics, employee discount abuse etc.) within the LP department’s schedule.Process and review as needed employment background checks. Provide case recap summaries to executive management as needed. Communicate to leadership, mitigation strategies to prevent loss and enhance policy/procedure compliance.Maintain licensing, industry subscriptions and software updates as needed to ensure LP investigative tools remain current

Corporate Campus Security

Be responsible for assisting and enforcing campus security policy and procedures. Work closely with Campus facilities team to ensure all doors and points of access and egress are secured and working properly.Ensure all security systems are always in proper working order and maintains data integrity of systems including:Access control systemsBurglar and intrusion systemsCCTV systems Role Qualifications Possess (CFI) “Certified Forensic Interviewer”  (CFE) Certified Fraud Examiner or LPC and/or  (Loss Prevention Certified) certifications.Provide a proven track record outlining at minimum 7 to 10 years within the investigative / interview process.  (Examples of successfully concluded internal /external cases must be provided during the interview process.)Have general knowledge of federal, state and local (legal and labor laws) as they pertain to termination of employment, criminal prosecution, restitution and civil demand. Possess overall understanding of general SQL. Grasp and put into practice “AI” within the scope of their work.Understand how ORC theft and other external schemes operate to affect the company’s P/L.  Work with the LP Team to track and eliminate   bad actors as these thefts occur.Be able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all business partners.Be proficient in the usage of EBR systems, excel, word, IP, open-source intelligence tools necessary to conduct and successfully conclude investigations.Be able to work alone and interface with business partners with minimal direction.This position and requires work to be conducted in person at the URBN campus offices.
