Job description: We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to architect and orchestrate the underlying infrastructure in blend of physical and virtualized environments for collaborative applications on the cloud. Our DevOps team is responsible for building infrastructure tools, automating the system/application deployment pipeline, and working with development teams to help engineer high-available applications
Responsibilities:
* Work within a small agile DevOps team to perform rapid deployment of code and provide operational support for servers in multiple data centers
* Automate processes to enable team to deploy, manage, and monitor their own applications in the cloud
* System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains
* Will be expected to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues
* Actively participate in high level team activities such as suggesting architecture
improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool
evaluations
Skills & Requirements
• 3+ years of experience managing a production Linux environment
• 3+ years of solid scripting development in Python and bash
• 2+ years experience with MySQL and/or Oracle. Good understanding of relational database concepts
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet
• Firm grasp of core operating system concepts (processes, threading, memory management, filesystem types, ACLs)
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and major protocols.
• Solid understanding of tiered security concepts (network, OS, application).
• Working knowledge of open-source monitoring solutions such as Nagios
• Working Knowledge of Git or Subversion
Key Components that are a MUST have:
Experience in Linux
Experience Datacenter
Shell scripting
Understanding of Networking concepts
May require on call services on the weekend.
