Urgent Care Veterinarian
Veterinary Urgent Care Center has specialized in urgent care for pets in the Northeast since 2017, and is growing! Our Narragansett location is set to open in Spring 2025 and we are actively seeking DVMs to join our team. Our multi-disciplinary team is experienced in primary care, emergency medical care, critical care and surgery. We provide important access to veterinary medicine when clients and pets need it the most. Our veterinarians have an average of 10 years of experience in critical care, general practice, wellness, and emergency care. We specialize in urgent care, from upset stomachs to minor surgical procedures, for non-emergent injuries and illness. Veterinary Urgent Care Center's (VUCC) mission is to change veterinary medicine for the better, both for our patients and pet owners, and for the talented women and men who make this profession their life's work. Since 2017, VUCC has been a leader in the veterinary urgent care space in Massachusetts and is expanding our services into new communities in the Northeast. Full and part-time positions are available. Full time Veterinarians work a standard 28 scheduled clinical hours in approximately four, 7-hour shifts. Join the team and be a part of the growing field of veterinary urgent care medicine! Description Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products. Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient. Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings. Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service. Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public. Requirements Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which the applicant is applying Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members. Full-time benefits include: Competitive salary range $150,000 - $230,000+ annually depending on PT vs FT and experience level Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k match, among other benefits. Full time positions are standard 28 scheduled clinical hours. Schedules can be flexible or set and prioritized for a healthy work/life balance. 50% weekend coverage is standard but can be rotating or set.
