Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you will spend 90% of your time testing samples from customers, recording and documenting the results, and writing reports using a report template. You will work with HFR, viscosity, GC, and other technical services. This position involves routine testing to support department objectives, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality responses to technical requests. Additional duties include sampling products, shipping and receiving samples, general warehouse organization, and inventory management of chemicals and samples. You will also support new product development by assisting chemists in developing test data for new products. Responsibilities + Test customer samples and document results. + Write reports using a report template. + Work with HFR, viscosity, and GC equipment. + Perform routine testing to support department objectives. + Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality responses to technical requests. + Sample products, handle shipping and receiving of samples. + Organize the warehouse and manage inventory of chemicals and samples. + Assist chemists in developing test data for new products. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in the sciences, preferably in Chemistry. + 0-2 years of industry experience in a laboratory setting. + Proficiency in quality control, chemistry, and laboratory procedures. + Experience with viscosity measurement and GC. + Familiarity with scales and balances from academic labs or industry. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Karl Fischer titration. + Exposure to mixing or blending chemicals. + No significant unexplained gaps in employment. + Completion of at least Chemistry I and lab class. Work Environment You will be part of a small team of three people, working a day shift of 8 hours between 7 AM and 6 PM on weekdays. The company is based in Olathe, KS, with sales offices and representatives across the US, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. There is also a production and blending plant in Louisiana.
