Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to collect specimens according to established procedures. This role includes collecting drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples. The Phlebotomist will research test/client information, confirm and verify all written and electronic orders, and ensure accurate data entry of patient registration and test orders. Additionally, the role involves entering billing information, safeguarding assets, and processing specimens through labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing. The candidate will also perform clerical duties, maintain logs, and stay updated with the latest phlebotomy techniques and company communications.
ResponsibilitiesCollect specimens including drug screens, blood samples, and pathology and cytology samples.Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.Complete all data entry requirements accurately including patient registration and test orders.Enter billing information and collect payments, ensuring the safeguarding of assets and credit card information.Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test protocols.Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, stock supplies, and answer phones when necessary.Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient's presence.Maintain phlebotomy logs including maintenance and temperature logs in a timely manner.Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.Stay informed on company communications.Essential SkillsPhlebotomyVenipunctureFinger sticksBlood drawStraight needleButterfly needleCustomer service6+ months of phlebotomy experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsTravel experience preferredPediatric and geriatric experienceDetail-orientedFlexibility
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31200.00 - $41600.00/yr.
All full-time employee working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for benefits. As a new hire, you are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. Additionally, you may enroll during your annual Open Enrollment period for an April 1st effective date.
