Urologic Surgeon-Oncologist

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of urologic oncology and minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic). Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Urology or eligible to take Part 2 of the certifying process.
Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic education of medical students and urology residents.
Clinical responsibilities may include diagnosis and management of GU malignancies as well as surgical and non-surgical care of patients (male and female) with general urological complaints including, but not limited to, hematuria, kidney cyst, prostate health, elevated PSA and bladder mass.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical or translational research in the field of urology and, specifically, urologic oncology.
The clinical practice for this position will be housed primarily at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The successful applicant will have completed a residency in urology and SUO fellowship in urologic oncology. He/she will have demonstrated expertise in all areas of outpatient and inpatient urology, with special facility in the evaluation and management urologic oncology. He/she will also be expected to have a research focus within that field.
