Urology Technician FT

Performs high quality Urology/Urodynamics procedures, focusing on patient care and education as well as educating and training clinical staff.  Supports and helps achieve departmental goals.  Performs all other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DUTIES

Performs all Urology procedures and specialized Urodynamic studies according to established department protocols. This will include, but not limited to such Urologic examinations such as cystograms, urethrograms, prostate biopsies, vasectomies, and other Cytologic examinations.Prepares, positions, transfers and informs patients. Documents and maintains records of examinations/procedures. Performs assigned room cleanup tasks including disposal, cleaning, inventory and restocking of supplies and equipment.Assists with the care, preparation, maintenance and cleaning of supplies and equipment in the clinic procedure area. Responsible for disinfection process of procedure tools and equipment.Performs all assigned IS transactions to ensure that accurate patient and exam/procedure information is recorded in a timely fashion for the patient medical record and billing purposes.Applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment. Functions as the asset to the clinical staff, which includes education, training, and evaluation of competencies.Sets up the sterile supplies, local anesthetics, contrast materials, catheters and other required equipment.  He/She collects, prepares and document physiologic specimens for the laboratory or other analysis. 

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 1 years experience in Urology required.At least 1 year of Urology physician office experience required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

BLS certification required.CUA (Certified Urologic Associate) certification required within 24 months of employment.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Past training and leadership experience strongly recommended related to occupational field.
