Responsibilities

The Triage RN is responsible for providing telephonic clinical assessment, triage, nursing advice, and health education to a variety of patients. 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Perform telephone triage for patients calling their provider with certain symptomology, assessing needs, giving appropriate clinical dispositions based on established protocolsFacilitates access to primary care providers, specialists, health care facilities and community resourcesProvides education to patients regarding immediate care advice, chronic disease management, and preventive health care maintenanceAdapts communication style to patients representing diverse personal, professional, cultural and socio-economic backgroundsAbility to multi-task, utilizing interview/communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills to level of licensure, while performing data entryUtilized electronic decision support tools and electronic health record (EMR) to document all information, which incorporates excellent computer and typing skills, and the ability to navigate multiple applications concurrentlyDocuments all encounters, according to CHI Memorial Mountain Management/CHI Memorial Medical Group standards for medical, legal, and statistical purposesAbility to work within protocols approved by CHI Memorial Mountain Management/CHI Memorial Medical Group to provide information to patients and consumersAccepts inbound calls from patients, pharmacies and other healthcare entitiesPerforms outbound calls to notify patients of reviewed lab and imaging results according to protocols that require review of the patient chart to answer questionsActs as a consumer advocate by resolution of problems or communication of consumer needs and concerns to appropriate resourcesAbility to follow medication refill protocols and act accordingly to those protocolsAchieve established benchmarks for quality by ensuring accuracy with patient accounts elements and standards for nursing documentation.Ability to adhere to workforce established schedules in order to promote and facilitate clinic metrics.Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.


Required Licensure and Certifications
Current RN license from the states of either Tennessee or Georgia, or compact state licensing board.
