US Offshore Contract Manager

Its end-to-end value chain presence encompasses onshore and offshore wind turbines design, manufacturing, installation as well as cutting-edge service solutions. + We are looking for an experienced Contract and Claim Manager to join our global team of Contract and Claim Managers at Siemens Gamesa. Your job will be to assist our offshore wind business in the successful execution of contracts for supply, installation and commissioning for offshore wind turbines (Turbine Supply agreements) for multi-billion USD offshore wind projects in the United States. You are a key member of the project team and ensure that all team members are advised about risks and opportunities associated with the relevant contracts. You proactively manage risks in customer contracts as well as subcontracts during the entire execution of the project, starting with the handover from our sales organization until final take-over of the windfarm by our customer. + Relocation may be offered for this role should it be necessary. Responsibilities: ​ + Manage contracts by tracking contractual obligations in order to minimize/prevent customer claims along with looking for opportunities to claim where customer obligations are not fulfilled. + In coordination with the project team suggest strategies, and prioritize how to mitigate against project risks – both towards customers and subcontractors. + Secure that contract obligations from customer contracts are cascaded down to subcontractors and supply contracts. + Draft official correspondence between Siemens Gamesa and its and customers and partners. + Negotiate and draft change orders in coordination with the project team. + Evaluate technical, commercial and legal aspects of claims and coordinate with relevant experts to conclude such evaluation and draft formal response. + Maintain assessment of the claim exposure and potential commercial impact of such and evaluate against any commercial provision. + Maximize cost efficiency of claim settlements considering remedy deployment or commercial Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience: + 8 years professional experience and 2 years in offshore wind or similar large scale infrastructure projects in the energy sector as Contract and Claim Manager. + Experience in working with various types of construction and supply contracts, preferable within the energy sector. + J.D. or similar degree in law. Alternatively, commercial or technical degree with good legal/contractual skills. + Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
