US Senior Tax Accountant

As a PPG Senior US Tax Accountant, you will assist the US tax team within the tax department by leading the preparation and completion of federal, state, and local tax returns and estimates. You will also be able to leverage your tax knowledge and experience by participating in analyzing changes to US federal and state tax law, responding to federal and state audits, and implementing tax optimization efforts. You will also be the primary reviewer of work completed by less experienced staff. You will also gather/manage a large volume of data from all areas within the company.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and lead completion of the PPG federal consolidated tax return which includes compiling and analyzing information required to complete return.Prepare and lead completion of state and local income/franchise tax returns which includes compiling and analyzing information required to complete return.Prepare and lead quarterly federal and state estimates including calculations and coordinating related tax payments.Prepare and help support schedules for provision and the state provision.Manage and review excise tax filings, partnership filings, withholding tax filings, and miscellaneous filings.Participate and prepare responses in federal and state audits.Respond to notices from multiple taxing jurisdictions.Work with external consultants as engaged.Help with analysis, planning and implementation of responses to tax provisions, proposed acquisitions/dispositions and potential tax optimization strategies.Conduct research of tax issues that are assigned or arise to support the business and provide recommendations.Train and supervise staff and interns.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required with at least 3 years in public accounting or in a large multinational corporate tax departmentProficiency with Microsoft Excel and CorpTax or other income tax compliance softwareHyperion, Oracle, SAP, and Alteryx experience is a plus.
