Clover Leaf is seeking a qualified Safety Officer for an upcoming project at Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), expected to last 12-14 months. The project involves the design and construction of a 5,000 square-foot Pre-Engineered Metal Building designated for small arms storage. The scope includes installing a single cantilever sliding gate, asphalt-paved driveway, grading and erosion control measures, dry utilities, an access road, temporary free zone construction fencing, and related incidental work.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and Army Corps of Engineers regulations throughout the project's duration. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions promptly. Provide safety training and orientation sessions to all project personnel, emphasizing site-specific protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training sessions, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible. Collaborate with project management and construction teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution. Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences. Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve the project's safety standards.Qualifications:
A minimum of 30 hours of OSHA training. At least three (3) years of experience in construction and industrial safety, with a focus on projects involving the Army Corps of Engineers. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and Army Corps of Engineers safety standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of delivering clear safety instructions and fostering a culture of safety among all project stakeholders. Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate safety records and documentation.
