We are searching for an experienced USAID TRADE Project - Trade Support Assistant at our Egypt facility. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

USAID’s Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on seven selected sectors: engineering products, food processing, home textiles, ready-made garments, chemicals, printing and packaging, and building materials. Through the project, USAID works with the Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small- and medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and drive economic growth.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Within Result 2's framework focused on amplifying the capacities of selected Trade Support Institutions (TSIs) and fortifying their service portfolio, the Trade Support Assistant plays a vital role. Reporting to the Trade Services Manager, this position aids in developing and enhancing services for TSIs.
Responsibilities include supporting the formulation of action plans for capacity-building interventions, conducting regular progress assessments, and assisting TSIs in refining their service delivery procedures. The Trade Support Assistant collaborates across TRADE teams, ensuring streamlined information flow and efficient task execution.
The role demands candidates with a strong understanding of export development, business environment exposure, project management, and excellent communication and writing abilities.

TASKS

Assist in managing and maintaining records for designated partner Trade Support Institutions (TSIs) per the TRADE project's guidelines and activities.Collaborate with TSIs to identify potential areas for sustainable improvement and contribute ideas for customized capacity-building interventions.Contribute to crafting action plans tailored to enhance the capacities of TSIs and assist in their implementation.Aid in monitoring and overseeing the recruitment of short-term technical assistants and service providers for implementing action plans as required.Support in conducting periodic assessments to track the progress of trade support services provided by partner TSIs.Assist in organizing and facilitating capacity-building workshops to enhance TSIs' capabilities in delivering trade support services.Assist in monitoring and evaluating the impact of capacity-building initiatives on TSI performance, ensuring compliance with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) requirements.Support TSIs in optimizing service delivery processes by sharing insights and best practices.Foster effective communication with TSIs, ensuring alignment with project objectives and priorities.Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate TSI needs into project planning and implementation.Contribute to generating and maintaining detailed reports documenting activities, progress, and outcomes related to partner TSIs.Aid in promoting knowledge sharing and best practices among TSIs to drive continuous service improvement.Support editing technical reports to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.Liaise with other TRADE teams to facilitate effective assignment delivery and streamline information flow.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, international development, economics, communications, or a related field.0-3 Years of relevant work experience.Strong follow-up skills to ensure timely delivery of overall project timelines.Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) requirements and practices in project implementation is a plus.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Exceptional analytical skills and strong organizational abilities.Collaborative mindset and capability to liaise with various project teams.
