Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Family Child Care (FCC) Office. Incumbent must be able to work flexible hours according to the schedule of home visits and training for new providers. Responsibilities Responsible for the administration of the USDA Program in Family Child Care (FCC). Recruits, trains, enrolls and monitors FCC Providers for eligibility in the USDA Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP). Explains record keeping and claims requirements. Assists providers with menu planning. Conducts monitoring home visits (minimum 1 per quarter) to ensure compliance with applicable USDA and AF regulations and policies. Reviews meal attendance records and child enrollment forms. Trains FCC Providers, provides reference and educational materials; attends CACFP related workshops and assists with on-going in-service training. Serves as point of contact (POC) for technical advice and guidance on State/USDA requirements. Collects monthly reimbursement forms from providers and calculates reimbursement rate paid to provider and submits claims to state officials. Assists with the Child Development Center and School-Age USDA Child and Adult Programs (CACFP). Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Training and experience which provides a practical knowledge of food and early childhood development as it relates to nutrition. Ability to speak to groups, apply specialized detailed guidelines, and become an authoritative source of information on CACFP. Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing, perform mathematical computations, and be familiar with general computer use. Must have a valid driver's license as driving is required and be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. Must be able to work flexible hours according to schedule of home visits and training for new providers. Must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation without hazard to self or others. T1 background investigation required. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. This position requires the incumbent to be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
