Overview
The UX Design Manager plays a critical role in evangelizing UX throughout the organization and leading UX/design efforts. You will establish the design vision and strategy across our product platform. You are deeply customer-focused, employing human-centered design methodologies and design thinking. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Service to ensure to create beautiful and value-creating experiences. You will direct and mentor a small team of designers and writers
Responsibilities
+ ESTABLISH AND EVANGELIZE: Devolop and advocate for the customer via SurePayroll’s design/UX strategy. Build and nurture the design team for high performance. Evangelize user-centered design within the design and product org, but also beyond
+ STRATEGIZE AND PLAN: Collaborate with cross functional teams to envision UI and UX solutions that smartly address our business marketing goals while fulfilling user needs and expectations. Take a customer-centric approach to design and problem solving; leverage team research, analytics, and insights to understand key moments of truth in our customers’ decision journeys; form and test hypotheses and employ best practice ways of addressing their needs and pain points.
+ DESIGN AND EXECUTE (UI/UX/FRONT END DEV) Create and maintain digital assets such as user flows, interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using diagramming, design, and prototyping tools. Create repositories of reusable components, modules, and pages for our digital assets. Provide input to requirements documents.
+ DESIGN REVIEW AND INTEGRITY: Work closely with Engineering and QA to ensure that execution of design meets high standards.
+ CONSULT Act as the liaison between marketing, engineers & architects. Work with UX leadership and Brand leadership to ensure a seamless brand experience for our users, from prospect to loyal customer. Recognize proprietary code, process, and/or standard inefficiencies and make suggestions for improvement.
+ Leads the Design team in design direction and provides overall guidance.
+ Drives process of executing and reviewing UX Design to ensure quality and alignment to the UX Strategy
+ Responsible for establishing a process for UX Design methodologies for planning and execution
+ Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, developing, and managing a team of top talent employees. Responsible for setting priorities/performance metrics, hiring, performance appraisals, employee coaching, promotions, and salary actions. Ensures staff is trained in departmental processes and procedures to ensure employees meet goals and expectations
+ Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the User Experience function
** Design portfolio required.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), UI Design, and Usability; Visual, Motion, Interaction, or Information Architecture design - Required
+ 5 years of experience in Supervisory/management role of User Experience front-end design teams in software B2B Tech industry.
+ 7 years of experience in Superior information design skills; competent in all facets of the design process.
+ Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion - Able to strategize at a high level while simultaneously managing details. Experience designing, developing, and implementing User Experience strategy. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Successful at building, managing, and motivating teams. Significant contributions toward a broad range of consumer and enterprise products. Knowledge of state-of-the-art UX tools
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position $96,600 - $151,800 . Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
